Condition A, ready to machine and age
Stock is 17-4 PH (AISI 630, UNS S17400) in Condition A, solution annealed, certified to ASTM A564 with DFARS-compliant melt. Machine the part in this soft condition, then age it: H900 for maximum strength, H1025 for the aerospace balance of strength and toughness, H1150 for maximum toughness.
Every 17-4 bar we stock is DFARS melt, so the DFARS selection above prices the same stock; the plain price applies when no melt requirement exists.
Planning the finished dimensions
Random-length bar is cut to your length with square ends; allow for facing, finish turning and the small dimensional change that comes with aging.
Saw cuts and machining allowance
Our standard saw-cut tolerance is +1/8″ / −0″ on cut length. Allow material for facing and finish machining. A different tolerance agreed on your order takes precedence.
Diameter and straightness follow the supplied mill or producer specification. Full mill-stock pieces ship uncut and retain mill tolerances.
