What Is DFARS Compliance?

DFARS 252.225-7014 is the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement clause governing specialty metals in defense contracts. It requires that aluminum, titanium, and high-performance steel alloys used in defense articles be melted or produced in the United States or a qualifying country.

This clause exists to ensure that the U.S. defense supply chain does not depend on foreign sources for critical structural metals. Qualifying countries include NATO allies, Australia, and other nations listed in DFARS 252.225-7009.

For aluminum plate, DFARS compliance means the raw ingot was melted domestically or in a qualifying country, and the plate was manufactured (rolled) in one of those same countries. Nox Metals maintains documentation of both melt and manufacture origin for all DFARS inventory.

Documentation

Every order from Nox Metals ships with complete mill certification that includes country of melt, country of manufacture, chemical composition, mechanical properties, and heat lot traceability. We do not ship material without documentation.

For DFARS orders, we verify domestic origin at the time of procurement and maintain traceability records from the mill through our inventory to your shipment. If your contract requires specific documentation formats or additional certifications, contact us and we will accommodate.
