Choose a current nominal diameter, then select cut length and quantity. T6511 identifies the extruded bar temper. Confirm that this product form and temper match the drawing before ordering.
Planning the finished dimensions
Allow for facing the saw-cut ends and turning or finishing the outside diameter. A nominal stock diameter is not a precision-ground diameter or a finished-part tolerance.
Use sharp tooling and effective chip control. Choose a machining allowance appropriate to the supplied stock and the finished geometry.
