6061-T6511 flat bar
Choose a supported thickness and width combination, then select cut length and quantity. T6511 is the extruded bar temper; bar and a piece sawn from T651 plate are different product forms even when their dimensions match.
Planning the finished dimensions
Nominal thickness, width and saw-cut length are starting dimensions. Allow material for facing, squaring or finish machining, and state tighter dimensional or surface requirements before ordering.
6061 is used for machined brackets, mounting components and general fixtures. Sharp tools, chip evacuation and appropriate cutting fluid help machining and finish.
Specification references
ASTM B221 is a reference for extruded aluminum bar and shapes. Dimensional tolerances depend on section size and the applicable specification. Confirm the required temper, revision and mill certification; nominal size alone does not establish a finished-part tolerance.
